I'm feeling so excited for an awesome fall ahead with plans for all kinds of new workshops this fall, including a one-day fashion workshop for adults! Won't that be fun?! 🎉 More details will be coming, but for now I want to share some pics and stories from my Art & Fashion Summer Camp! |
(The After-School Fashion Program starts on Tuesday October 7, and is suitable for ages 8 to teens, you can find all the details here.) I was so proud of all the kids at Fashion Summer Camp this year! This was only our second year, and it's been a huge hit with more kids wanting to join all the time! The 3 young fashionistas in the picture above designed and made their outfits!! Can you believe it?! Thats' what the program is all about! It's mind-blowing how much the kids learn and do and how much their skills improved! Each young designer got a few yards of white fabric. We also had a trip to a thrift store where they each got to pick something to upcycle!
Look how excited they are over this thrift store wedding dress find! Yards and yards of gorgeous fabric, lace, beads and more!
Our program mixes solid skills like hand and machine sewing, pattern drafting, dying, and more. We learn how to pick fabrics, how to design and plan for drape, movement and fit, for example. But we also encourage a lot of play and self-expression. It's so fun to help each student make their idea become real. ❤️ (The After-School Fashion Program starts on Tuesday October 7, and is suitable for ages 8 to teens, you can find all the details here.)
Let's take the outfit on the left. That black and white look with the piping, pleats and pockets was her vision. We helped her realize it step by step and she DID it! That was what she did with her white fabric. The young designer in the middle found a bedsheet at the thrift store, and we helped her create her vision. She silkscreen printed her designs all over and made a really cute dress! And the fashionista on the right? Let's check out her process!
She was so excited, she made 3 screens right away! These are her drawings, and we put them onto silkscreens so they can be printed on anything! She tested it on a t-shirt! OMG it's perfect!
Now, very carefully, she's printing it onto her white fabric with our help. Smudges can easily happen when you're printing yardage like this, but she did an amazing job!
Now she's carefully handpainting everything. The kids really get into bringing their vision to life and I'm super impressed by their dedication to their artistry!
Well, that work was worth it! It looks just gorgeous, but now we have to make the skirt! First, Sarita (my expert sewing and pattern drafting teacher) helps with pattern drafting, and then cutting out the pattern pieces.
Sewing! Why does this thread keep breaking?! 🤣 That's one the the skills we're here to learn, so don't worry. Everything takes practice and that's what we're here for. The projects always come together in the end, and we have a fashion show for the parents! And there's her finished outfit! Isn't that amazing?
Let's check out more student work and scenes from Fashion Camp! (2026 Summer Camp dates are available to book now!)

One last bit of fashion news from Peach Berserk! I have amazing new skirts in stock. Each one is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece of creativity, made from the re-purposed drop cloths around the studio. I wore one just down the street to the LCBO yesterday and got 3 compliments in 15 minutes, so I know they're a hit!
Click here to see the skirt in motion, modeled by the fabulous Alba! You can shop for skirts here! I don't have them all listed yet, so if you don't see one online you like, get in touch and I can show you them all.
Can't decide? Just get in touch with me and I can help you choose! I'll even have a video chat to show the details and help make sure it's going to fit you. Hit reply for any questions or feedback - or just give me (Kingi!) a call at (647) 740-1141.
I hope your summer was just awesome, and your fall is full of fun and creativity! ~ xoxo Kingi
