Hey everyone ! I'm SO excited to host my new and amazing week-long Art and Fashion Camp this summer.
The dates are....
March Break , March 10 to 14
8:45 am to 4:30 pm
I'm bringing together my decades long success as a creative textile and fashion designer in Toronto and my love and experience with teaching. It is going to ROCK.
The camp will start at 8:45 but it is fine if any of the fashionistas attending start later - let me know when you will be arriving and I will organize for that !
Here is what we're gonna do ...
Day 1 Introduction to me and textile/fashion design.
How about YOU - what are your fashion goals ?
Sewing 101 - pick and create a project - simple skirt, top or totebag to design, cut, sew, decorate and complete during our Fashion Week.
Day 2
Thrift Shop Finds....
The Future of Fashion is Upcycling.
Field trip to an amazing thrift shop, what to look for and everyone gets an item to transform into something amazing.
We work on this and our sewing from yesterday.
Day 3
Screenprinting !
We learn and do the entire process of creative photo-emulsion screenprinting. Everyone designs and creates their own textile prints, and uses them to print t-shirts and their sewn and upcycled items.
Day 4 Fabric Dyeing and Painting.
We learn techniques and materials for the best fabric embellishment techniquest. And we use them on fabrics, t-shirts and our Upcycled finds !
Day 5 Finale !
Finish our projects (and start new ones to finish at home!). Mini fashion show and discussion about what we love about each others creations. Workshop on fashion illustration/marketing our products - what would we charge? What would we call our 'line' and how would we describe it's benefits ? A photographer will be here to take professional pictures of our creations.
Questions/answers about OUR fashion futures !
